Although this cotton cardigan from ME+EM looks is a contemporary piece, its Breton stripes mean theres plenty of history to it. Originally designed for the French Navy in 1858, the distinctive design was helpful to spot men overboard. In fact, the original design featured 21 individual stripes - a stripe for every one of Napoleons victories.
