What Should I Wear For Daytime Drinking?

Our favourite pubs and bars have reopened which means we finally have an official reason to put on some makeup and wear our new clothes! Whether your plans are a boozy brunch, relaxing in a pub garden or cocktails all day long, we’ve got you covered. Here are the latest outfit trends and example combinations worn by our favourite VIBs (very important bloggers).

Midaxi Smock Dresses

A dress is the best option for keeping cool on warm Summer days and a smock style is both stylish and a really comfy option (particularly if you go for some pub food – nice and loose!). The recently christened ‘midaxi’ length transforms this style from ‘girly cute’ to ‘sophisticated kook’.

Puff Sleeves

“The shorter the hemline, the bigger the sleeves”. Puff sleeve minis and tops are really popular this Summer. Whether you’re feeling floral or bold prints at the moment, you’ll look right at home in a pub garden in one of these:

Bardot Maxi Dresses

If you’re enjoying the puff sleeve trend you might love this option too! Channel your inner Esmerelda (Disney Princess) with a bardot maxi dress. Also a great way to tan your shoulders (goodbye strap tan lines!).

T-shirt Dresses

Don’t count yourself as a ‘girly girl’? You can still enjoy the comfort of a Summer dress with the understated femininity that t-shirt dresses offer. Style with chunky jewellery, statement glasses and white sneakers and you’ll look the bomb!

Shirt Dresses

Ever wish we could rock up to day drinks wearing your boyfriend’s shirt? Well it turns out you can! Jo Holley is living (and gorgeous) proof that this is a winning look this Summer.

Wrap Tea Dresses

Bring cute, flirty Summer vibes to your daytime drinking table with a wrap tea dress. For day drinks with friends you could wear with a white trainer or chunky sandal and a denim jacket. Or depending what your plans are, a heeled sandal and leather jacket create the perfect vibe for a date or if you’re moving onto evening drinks.

White Trainers

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Summer skirts and dresses with trainers is a match made in heaven. Perfect if you want to make a dress more casual. And very good if you’re heading to the park for your day sesh too – keep the dust off your feet and if socially distanced frisbee is on the cards, you’re all set!

A Chunky Sandal

We love the sandal styles that have come out this year. Forget dainty straps and heels, this year we’re completing our pub outfits with chunky strap sandals and flatforms.

Denim Jackets

Hopefully you won’t need a jacket but we all know what British Summers are like – it’s good to have an extra layer, just in case it gets cooler! For daytime drinks denim jackets are best but as we’ve mentioned, leather jackets create more of an evening look which is ideal if you’re looking to transition onto bars for the evening.

Statement Sunglasses

Add a bit of sassy chic to your day drinking outfit with a new pair of sunnies. The right pair makes a statement and still somehow goes with everything.
